HEXAGONAL PWR-CORE MODELING AND SIMULATION WITH APPLICATION OF NECP-BAMBOO

In this paper, the modeling and simulation of PWRs loaded with hexagonal fuel assemblies has been implemented NECP-Bamboo code. NECP-Bamboo, consisting a 2D lattice code named Bamboo-Lattice 3D steady-state core Bamboo-Core, was primitively designed for rectangular assemblies. As capability extension assemblies, four aspects improvement have in NECP-Bamboo. Firstly, Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) modeling. Secondly, explicit reflector assembly applied to provide more reliable few-group constants, compared conventional 1D model assembly. Thirdly, assembly-homogenization extended Fourthly, diffusion solver Bamboo-Core based on Variational Nodal Method (VNM) handle geometry. With application capability-extended simulations VVER-1000 benchmark MOX implemented. It can be observed that numerical results provided by agree well corresponding Monte-Carlo
